Military operation in Libya faces deadlock - Russian diplomat

MOSCOW. Aug 2 (Interfax) - The military operation in Libya has reached a deadlock, and it is necessary today to resume the search for a political solution in the country, Sergei Vershinin, the director of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Middle East and North Africa Department, told journalists on Tuesday.

"What we are witnessing today is a deadlock, which confirms the absence of a military solution. There is a need to begin looking for political and diplomatic solutions once again," he said.
