KYIV. Aug 3 (Interfax) - The Supreme Administrative Court of Ukraine has upheld the ruling by the Donetsk District Administrative Court of April 2, 2010, and the determination of the Donetsk Administrative Court of Appeal of June 23, 2010, which found that the January 20, 2010 decree by third Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko to award the Hero of Ukraine title to Stepan Bandera was illegal.
The panel of judges has rejected the appeals filed by Yuschenko, Roman Shukhevych's son Yury Shukhevych, Stepan Bandera (Bandera's grandson), the Svoboda movement and a number of Ukrainians against these decisions, an Interfax correspondent said.
It was reported that on January 22, 2010, Yuschenko signed a decree bestowing the Hero of Ukraine award to Bandera.
On April 2, 2010, the Donetsk District Administrative Court stripped Bandera of this title on the grounds that he was not a Ukrainian citizen.
