Tymoshenko supporters, police clash outside of Pechersky Court in Kyiv

KYIV. Aug 8 (Interfax) - Supporters of former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko reacted strongly to the actions of the police, who started installing metal shields to fully fence them off from the main entrance to Pechersky District Court in Kyiv.

The crowd of supporters tried to obstruct the installation of shields by force, an Interfax correspondent reports.

People's deputies intervened to settle the situation with the law enforcers.

By now the shields have been installed and the incident settled.

Tymoshenko was taken into custody last Friday under a court judgment.
