Antonov An-12 aircraft grounded - transport watchdog

MOSCOW. Aug 10 (Interfax) - Flights of Antonov An-12 aircraft were suspended in Russia after the crash of an An-12 in the Magadan region.

"The federal transport oversight service Rostransnadzor has ordered all An-12 aircraft operated by Russian air carriers to be grounded pending measures to bring the planes into line with the current flight safety standards," Rostransnadzor said in a statement received by Interfax on Wednesday.

Relevant letters have been sent to all air carriers operating An-12 aircraft, it said.
