MOSCOW. Aug 11 (Interfax-AVN) - Coastal infrastructure of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Novorossiysk will be ready in 2014, while the building of the breakwater will be complete in 2017, Russian Spetsstroy Director Alexander Naginsky said on Wednesday.
"Up to nine billion rubles will be assigned annually starting next year for building auxiliary facilities of the reserve base of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Novorossiysk," he said.
Some 3 billion rubles were assigned for the project in 2011, and 1.4 billion rubles were spent, he said.
The construction of a residential area for the Black Sea Fleet personnel will begin in Novorossiysk in late 2012. The area is being planned, Naginsky said.
There are vast construction works in the Baltic Fleet, too. A new base is under construction for submarines to be moved from Kronshtadt. Another base is being built for the North Fleet in Gajiyevo.
The Chkalovsky airfield near Moscow is being modernized to receive the heaviest jets.
