Russian, Kazakh warships to conduct hydrographic research in Caspian Sea

ASTANA. Aug 12 (Interfax) - The GS-202 hydrographic research vessel of the Russian Navy Caspian Flotilla has entered Kazakhstan's territorial waters as part of preparations for the Center 2011 international strategic exercise, the Kazakh Defense Ministry said.

"The GS-202, along with the Zhayyk hydrographic research vessel of the Kazakhstan Navy, will conduct hydrographic research in the sea waters adjacent to the site of the forthcoming exercise," the statement said.

The drills are slated for September 2011.
