ZHUKOVSKY, Moscow region. Aug 22 (Interfax-AVN) - The Compass Moscow Design Bureau presented radio compasses that allow a plane to reach the airport when all the other navigation instruments are defunct at the MAKS 2011 show in Zhukovsky.
"We are the monopoly producer of radio compasses in Russia. We keep upgrading the range of our products," a company representative told Interfax-AVN.
"A radio compass catches signals from radio stations and guides the jet on its way to the airport of destination," he said.
Compass makes aircraft navigation instruments for the Air Force and some other clients.
