Diplomats investigating injury of Izvestia journalist in Tripoli - Margelov

MOSCOW. Aug 22 (Interfax) - The Russian Embassy in Libya does not know why a Russian journalist wounded in the fighting in Tripoli was in the city.

"The embassy does not know how the Izvestia journalist happened to be in Tripoli. All the Russian journalists were officially evacuated from Tripoli," Presidential Representative for Libya Mikhail Margelov told the Ekho Moskvy radio.

The last group of Russian journalists was evacuated a couple of days ago, he said.

"Details will be studied now," he added.

Izvestia Editor-in-Chief Alexander Malyutin told Interfax that journalist Orhan Jemal had been wounded in Libya.

"Unfortunately, he was wounded, but his condition is stable. We are working on his transportation to Russia," he said.
