Lost Express-AM4 satellite no threat to ISS in next 12 months - expert

MOSCOW. Aug 30 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia's Express-AM4 telecommunications satellite, which has lost signal since its launch on August 18, poses no threat to the International Space Station (ISS) yet, but in the future their flight trajectories could cross.

"We did not do an exact calculation of the orbit for the Express-AM4 spacecraft, but it is not ruled out that in future its orbit and the ISS orbit will cross, thus putting the station at risk. But this cannot happen over the next twelve months," a ballistics specialist from a Russian company, who wished to remain anonymous, told Interfax-AVN.
