MOSCOW. Sept 7 (Interfax) - An airliner crash near Yaroslavl, Russia, on Wednesday claimed 36 lives, the Emergency Situations Ministry said.
The Yakovlev Yak-42 fell 2 kilometers from Tuloshna airport in Yaroslavl, a ministry spokesman told Interfax. "According to preliminary information, 36 of the 37 people who were on board were killed," he said.
The ministry said the plane was headed for Minsk.
The cause of the crash was unclear. Rescue and other emergency services went to the crash site.
