MOSCOW. Sept 12 (Interfax) - A number of people have sustained injuries at an accident at a plant near a nuclear power plant (NPP) in France. There has been no radiation leak.
According to France's Nuclear Energy Commissariat, a smelting furnace exploded at a waste processing plant located near the Marcoule nuclear power plant, a spokesman for Russia's Rosatom nuclear agency, Sergei Novikov, has told Interfax.
Four people were injured by the explosion, one is in grave condition, French sources say.
No radiation leak has been registered.
