TBILISI. Sept 19 (Interfax) - Russia's entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO) will be beneficial for Georgia, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Nino Kalandadze told a Monday press briefing.
"The WTO membership will put Russia into a certain framework, in which Russia will have to be a civilized player," she said.
"The possibility of the Russian entry into the WTO will depend on Moscow's behavior at the negotiations," she said.
In all, Georgia and Russia have had five rounds of WTO negotiations.
Georgia demands the transparency of trade in the Abkhaz and South Ossetian sectors of the Georgian-Russian border, Kalandadze said.
"The Georgian side does not speak about the details of the negotiations unlike others, but we are ready for international control over these borders," the deputy minister said.
