MOSCOW. Oct 18 (Interfax) - Russia will not comment on an alleged Iranian conspiracy to assassinate the Saudi ambassador in Washington before hearing explanations from the United States, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Monday.
"Experts will come to describe this situation. They have either been sent in or will be sent in at any moment. We haven't heard them yet, and before we hear them we won't say anything else," Lavrov told Interfax.
Earlier, the U.S. State Department's official spokesperson Victoria Nuland announced that an American delegation was heading for Russia for explanations over an alleged Iranian plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador in Washington. Similar delegations were sent to Turkey and China.
The experts "have not met anyone yet", Lavrov repeated.
