MOSCOW. Oct 18 (Interfax) - Russia's National Anti-Terrorist Committee (NAC) discussed measures to maintain security during preparations for the December elections to the State Duma and the elections themselves at a recent session.
"Given the present-day operative and public-political situation, additional measures have been formulated with the aim of mobilizing the efforts of special services and law enforcement agencies to learn about possible plans to prepare acts of sabotage and terrorist attacks in advance in order to prevent them promptly," the committee's press center said in a report, received by Interfax.
The session was chaired by the committee's head and Federal Security Service director Alexander Bortnikov and was attended by the presidential envoys to Russia's federal districts, Central Election Commission members and government officials.
