Middle East Quartet to hold talks on October 26 - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. Oct 18 (Interfax) - The special envoys of the Middle East Quartet will meet with both sides in the Middle East conflict on October 26 to try to re-launch conflict settlement talks, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said.

"It has been agreed that the special representatives of the Quartet will meet with both sides in Jerusalem on October 26 in order to try to move forward toward the resumption of negotiations based on the known international legal foundation, which was confirmed by the Quartet's statement in New York on September 23," Lukashevich said, answering a media question about the Quartet's contacts with the Palestinian and Israeli negotiators.

The Quartet's special envoys are actively working with Palestinian and Israeli officials, he said.

Their latest teleconference was held on Monday, he added.
