MOSCOW. Oct 21 (Interfax) - Opposition in Yemen is against foreign interference in the country's domestic affairs.
"We are not in need of any interference - external or regional," Abdul Wahab al-Ansi, the secretary general of the Islah (Congregation for Reform) political party, said at a press conference in Moscow on Friday.
Foreign interference is advocated by the current authorities, he said.
"The regime would like Gulf states to intervene. The ruling regime was trying hard to convince its neighbors. A very difficult game was being played there. The ruling regime was interested in dragging this conflict out," he said.
But all members of the opposition delegation opted for a peaceful settlement of the conflict, he added.
Leader of the Coalition for Joint Action Muhammed Salem Basandva said the current regime will not last long.
"The Sanaa regime was unnerved by Gaddafi's killing in Libya and it launched an offensive on several regions. It is madness which shows that the regime is weak and will not last long," he said.
