FRENCH GUIANA/MOSCOW. Oct 21 (Interfax-AVN) - A Soyuz-ST-B medium-class Russian carrier rocket with two satellites for Europe's Galileo satellite navigation system lifted off from the Kourou spaceport in French Guiana on Friday.
The launch was broadcast live on Arianspace company's website.
It was the first launch of a Soyuz carrier rocket from South America.
Reports said earlier that the launch had been scheduled for Thursday, but was put off by one day over pressure leakage in the fuel filling system, which caused a fuel leak and suspension in fuelling in the third stage of the Soyuz-ST carrier rocket.
