MOSCOW. Oct 24 (Interfax) - The Russian leadership absolutely rules out the possibility of any contacts with current Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"No one will ever invite President Saakashvili," Lavrov said in an interview with the radio stations Echo Moskvy, the Voice of Russia, and Radio Rossii on Friday.
Russia will not talk with a man who issued orders to kill his citizens and citizens of Russia, Lavrov said. "This man has been removed from the list of our contacts," Lavrov said.
This, however, should not obstruct contacts between ordinary people, Lavrov said. He admitted, however, that the abolition of visas between Russia and Georgia is so far impossible.
"Visa-free travel in a situation in which we have no diplomatic relations is simply impossible," he said.
