Russia, Poland can agree on Katyn Massacre victims' rehabilitation out-of-court - Lavrov

MOSCOW. Oct 24 (Interfax) - The Russian and Polish governments can settle the issue of rehabilitation of the Katyn Massacre victims without going to court, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

"We believe this issue can be settled at an intergovernmental level to satisfy all the families of the officers who died," Lavrov said in a live interview with the radio stations Echo Moskvy, the Voice of Russia, and Radio Rossii on Friday.

A number of Polish individuals have forwarded a number of appeals to the European Court of Human Rights to have the Katyn Massacre victims rehabilitated, but "these were not appeals by the Polish government, although the Polish government earlier spoke in support for the appeals of its individual citizens," Lavrov said.
