MOSCOW. Oct 24 (Interfax) - The German authorities have not contacted the Russian Embassy in Berlin in relation to the arrest of a man and woman suspected of transferring information to Russian intelligence.
"The Russian Embassy in Germany is not commenting on the fact because nobody has addressed or notified the Russian diplomatic mission in relation to the matter," Interfax was told at the embassy in Monday.
According to the German media, the detentions were made in the towns of Balingen and Marburg. The first reports say that investigators seized two counterfeit Austrian passports. The press says the police suspect that both supposed spies have been working for Russian intelligence in Germany for over 20 years.
