Moscow to continue assistance to Karabakh peace process - Medvedev

MOSCOW. Oct 24 (Interfax) - Russia will further promote the Karabakh peace process, President Dmitry Medvedev told a Monday press conference after negotiations with his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan.

"Stability in the South Caucasus was an important item of our negotiations. We discussed the situation around Karabakh," Medvedev said.

"A fair solution can be attained through political efforts only," Medvedev said, adding that a lot had been done in recent years.

"Russia will further assist the negotiations as a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group and in direct contacts with the Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders," he said.
