Moscow happy with new START - General Staff chief

MOSCOW. Nov 17 (Interfax-AVN) - The previous START Treaty was flawed in the eyes of Russia, but Moscow is absolutely happy with the new START, General Staff Chief Gen. Nikolai Makarov said at a meeting of the Russian Public Chamber on Thursday.

"The previous START treaty was flawed, but there were attempts to extend it. The new START is the first treaty that satisfies us," he said.

"Besides, this treaty enables our secession for certain reasons. You know that the European missile defense problem is rather serious today," he said.
