TBILISI. Nov 28 (Interfax) - Georgia's ex-president Eduard Shevardnadze said he sees no reason to celebrate the Rose Revolution in Georgia.
"People's lives in Georgia were hard before the Rose Revolution and it is still difficult, but people then did not have so many problems just getting food on the table," Shevardnadze said in an interview with the Georgian weekly Asaval-Dasavali.
Shevardnadze believes changes have to take place in Georgia and said he has high hopes for businessman Bidzina Ivanishvili, who has recently appeared on the Georgian political scene.
"As a citizen and voter, I would welcome Ivanishvili in power. I hope he will be able to unite Georgia and restore relations with Russia," Shevardnadze said.
Shevardnadze also criticized the decision made by the current Georgian administration to move the Georgian parliament and government from Tbilisi to Kutaisi in 2012.
"I love Kutaisi, but I don't understand why the current administration wants to move the parliament and the government from Tbilisi to Kutaisi," he said.
