Russian courts issue over 200 verdicts in terrorist cases in 2010

MOSCOW. Dec 21 (Interfax) - More than 200 people were convicted of terrorism in 2010, the Russian Supreme Court said.

"In 2010, 233 people were convicted of terrorist crimes, 167 of them of membership in an illegal armed group," Supreme Court judge Vladimir Davydov said at a Court plenum which focused on the court practice in terrorism cases.

Seven people were convicted of terrorist attacks, 12 of abetting terrorist, Davydov said.

"Two were convicted of public calls for terrorism," he said
