MOSCOW. Jan 26 (Interfax-AVN) - The number of young men to be drafted to the Russian Armed Forces this spring will be approximately the same as it was in the fall draft, General Staff Deputy Chief Col. Gen. Vasily Smirnov told reporters in Moscow on Thursday.
"I think we will draft no more and no less than we did last fall," he said.
A total of 135,850 young men were drafted to the Armed Forces in fall 2011.
The precise parameters of the spring draft will become known at the end of February, Smirnov said. "It would be premature to speak about that now," he added.
