Man killed in Nalchik school incident - source

MOSCOW. Jan 27 (Interfax) - One man was killed in an incident in Nalchik, the capital of the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria in Russia's North Caucasus, a source in law enforcement agencies told Interfax.

"Seven men were playing volleyball in the gym of a high school on Kirov Street in Nalchik when two armed persons wearing ski masks suddenly burst into the gym. One of the volleyball players was killed as a result of the incident," the source said.

After it, the attackers escaped, he added.

According to earlier reports, up to seven people were taken hostage in a school's building in Nalchik.

There were no children among them.
