Ukrainian nuclear scientists cooperate with Iranian colleagues at Bushehr NPP - Iranian Ambassador

KYIV. Feb 9 (Interfax) - Ukrainian nuclear scientists and specialists are cooperating with Iranian colleagues at the Bushehr nuclear power plant (NPP), Iranian Ambassador to Kyiv Akbar Ghasemi Ali Abadi said in an interview published by the Thursday issue of the newspaper Segodnya.

"The cooperation is not recent; it started back in the Soviet period. Dozens of Ukrainian nuclear scientists and specialists are rather fruitfully cooperating with our scientists at the Bushehr NPP," he said.

The Bushehr NPP is the first nuclear power plant in Iran and the whole Middle East. The construction began in 1975 and resumed after a long period of plant conservation in 1995. The works ended in August 2010.
