PYATIGORSK. March 7 (Interfax) - Ammunition and extremist leaflets have been found during an inspection in Nalchik of a car belonging to a resident of Kabardino-Balkaria, the Russian Interior Ministry's Main Directorate for the North Caucasus Federal District said on Wednesday.
"While acting on intelligence on Tuesday security forces stopped a Mitsubishi Lancer vehicle on Trety Promyshleny Street in Nalchik. The law enforcement officers searched the 26-year-old resident of the Chegem district and seized a RGD-5 grenade with fuse assembly from him," the statement said.
During the inspection of the car's interior, the police also seized two VOG-25 rounds for a grenade launcher, a charged magazine for a Kalashnikov assault rifle and extremist printed material, the police said.
Police are considering launching a criminal inquiry.
