Medvedev submits CSTO defense products' agreement for Duma ratification

MOSCOW. March 21 (Interfax) - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has submitted with the State Duma for ratification the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Agreement on the cooperation between the member states in the design, manufacturing, operation, maintenance, modernization, service extension and disposal of defense products.

Medvedev has appointed Deputy Defense Minister Nikolai Pankov as his official representative during the parliamentary debate of this agreement, the Kremlin said on Wednesday.

The document was signed in Moscow on December 10, 2010.

Under the Agreement, defense products will be supplied under agreements on the basis of approved bilateral lists containing the lists of customers and defense product suppliers, as well as the nomenclature and amount of the products supplied.

Under the Agreement, the cross-border movement of defense products will be carried out in accordance with the national laws of each party.
