MOSCOW. March 26 (Interfax) - The results of the presidential elections in Russia and the United States will not affect the implementation of the U.S.-Russian nuclear security program, said Sergei Kiriyenko, head of state corporation Rosatom.
"The extent of responsibility of Russia and the U.S. as the countries that created nuclear technologies is so high that no political situation can affect their performance of the obligations they assumed," Kiriyenko told reporters on Friday.
"We aim to make atom safe not only in our country but in the entire world. This is why we are trying not just to exhort but also act together," the Rosatom chief said.
