NALCHIK. April 4 (Interfax) - A counter-terrorist operation was launched within the administrative borders of the Khasanya community, a suburb of Nalchik, at 10:00 a.m. on April 4, the Operational Headquarters in the Russian North Caucasus republic of Kabardino-Balkaria reported.
The decision to start the operation was made by the head of the Federal Security Service (FSB) department for Kabardino-Balkaria with the aim of preventing terrorist attacks, ensuring security of people, organizations, and institutions, and searching for and detaining hiding members of the local criminal underworld, the Operational Headquarters said in a statement.
