MOSCOW. April 26 (Interfax) - The Russian Foreign Ministry expects the UN monitoring mission in Syria will help end violence in that country.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement posted on its website that Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had met with a delegation of the opposition Syrian Popular Front for Change and Liberation in Moscow on Thursday.
"Special hope has been expressed that the activity of a UN monitoring mission established in line with UN Security Council Resolution 2043 will help enforce the ceasefire and turn the Syrian crisis onto a political track," it said.
