VORONEZH. May 18 (Interfax-AVN) - About 12,000 cadets and students will enroll for studies at the Zhukovsky and Gagarin Air Force Academy of the Air Force's military research and educational center, being formed in Voronezh, the chief of the Military Aviation Engineering University, Maj. Gen. Gennady Zibirov, told reporters.
"We are introducing a new educational process from September 1 at the restructured Air Force educational and research center, which incorporates 12 academies, including the Zhukovsky and Gagarin Integrated Air Force Academy," the general said.
In compliance with a government instruction, the Zhukovsky and Gagarin Air Force Academy educational and training center, currently based in Monino near Moscow, will be transferred to Voronezh
The Air Force's educational center will train 12,000 cadets, he said. "The current number of cadets is smaller due to the absence of enrolment in recent years," he added. Full admission of students will start from 2012 and we will attain the 12,000 target in five years," he said.
