Three skinheads convicted in Voronezh for beating up Iraqi national

VORONEZH. June 8 (Interfax) - The central district court in Voronezh has handed down a guilty verdict to three local residents, who beat up a citizen of Iraq in an ethnic hate attack, the regional prosecutor's office reported on Friday.

The court has established that in June 2011, Artyom Nikiforov, Alexei Domanin and Ivan Lukin, all of them aged 20, attacked an Iraqi citizen as they were walking in the center of Voronezh. The Iraqi national was taken to a hospital with severe bodily injuries.

It turned out later that they were nationalists and belonged to the skinheads extremist movement.

Nikiforov was sentence to 22 months of correctional labor, with 10% of his earnings to be transferred to the state budget, while Domanin and Lukin each to 120 hours of correctional labor.
