MOSCOW. June 9 (Interfax) - A bill toughening punishment for violating the law during mass events, i.e. rallies, demonstrations, etc., has been published on the website of Rossiiskaya Gazeta and has taken effect.
June 9, 2012 is indicated as the official date of the law's promulgation, which means that it comes into force on this date.
President Vladimir Putin signed the bill into law on Friday, June 8.
