Ukrainian parliament works without opposition attending

KYIV. July 5 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian parliament is working on Thursday as it did on Wednesday, without opposition factions attending.

The session is chaired by Deputy Speaker Adam Martynyuk, an Interfax correspondent reported.

The BYuT-Batkivshchina and the Our Ukraine - People's Self Defense factions are absent.

Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn and his deputy Mykola Tomenko are absent, too, after they announced their resignation on Wednesday.

About 200 representatives of the parliamentary majority are working on the agenda.

The Ukrainian parliament's ninth session is to last until July 6.
