NIZHNY NOVGOROD. July 13 (Interfax) - A criminal group, which was selling synthetic drugs, has been arrested in Nizhny Novgorod, the city's Prosecutor Vladimir Nikonov said.
"The criminal group consisting of ten people was operating in the city from March through November 2011. The roles of each group member have now been identified: there were two organizers, and all the others were divided into two sub-groups: dispatchers and couriers," Nikonov told a press conference on Thursday.
There was no earlier report about the arrest of this group.
"One of the organizers of this crime committed suicide during the preliminary investigation," the prosecutor said.
The group's profits from illicit drug trafficking are estimated at over 10 million rubles, he said. All members of the group have been arrested and have been charged with 65 counts of criminal activity.
