German Army delegation to view peacekeeper training in Russia

MOSCOW. July 13 (Interfax-AVN) - A delegation of the German Army, led by Chief Inspector (Commander) Lt. Gen. Werner Freers, is expected to visit the Central Military District's motorized infantry brigade, based in the Samara region, on July 19, the Central Military District's press service informed Interfax-AVN.

"The German guests will familiarize themselves with the Russian infantry formation's combat training under a new program for training peacekeepers," the press service said.

The brigade started training under a new peacekeeper program on June 1 and the personnel practice skills to serve at peacekeeping checkpoints and to patrol territories between conflicting parties. They will also learn the fundamentals of international humanitarian law and study foreign languages intensively.
