Russian aerobatic team not to perform at Farnborough Airshow

MOSCOW. July 16 (Interfax-AVN) - Air Force aerobatic demonstration team Russian Knights will not perform during the current international aerospace show in Farnborough, Britain, a senior Russian Defense Ministry official said.

"The Russian government has still not signed the authorization documents that were submitted more than two weeks ago," the source said on condition of anonymity.

Russian Air Force Commander in Chief Maj. Gen. Viktor Bondarev told Interfax-AVN on Friday: "We aren't flying [to Farnborough] yet." He did not give the reason, however.

Russian Knights was expected to take part in aerobatic performances on the so-called Public Day of the Farnborough International Airshow, when the event will be open to the public.
