Security measures taken in Primorye before APEC summit are sufficient - Bortnikov

VLADIVOSTOK. Aug 28 (Interfax) - The security measures taken in Vladivostok before the APEC summit are sufficient, Federal Security Service Director Alexander Bortnikov said.

"the possible pre-conditions for tensions on the territory of the Primorye Territory and the Far Eastern region were found and eliminated on time by the authorities and security and law enforcement services. No terrorist and extremist acts have taken place," Bortnikov said at the meeting of the National Anti-Terrorist Committee in Vladivostok.

The security model was developed with regard for the domestic and foreign experience and the development of the operative and political situation in Russia and outside it, Bortnikov said.

Bortnikov arrived on Vladivostok on Tuesday. In Vladivostok, he will hold the 35th meeting of the National Anti-Terrorist Committee, which will address security measures at the upcoming APEC 2012 summit.

The APEC summit will be held in Vladivostok on the island of Russky on September 2-9.
