Former Georgian minister may be charged with complicity in murder - minister

TBILISI. Nov 8 (Interfax) - Former Georgian interior minister Bacho Akhalaia, who has been arrested on suspicion of abuse of office, may also be charged with complicity in killing a jailed former army officer, the justice minister said on Wednesday.

"Today the wife of the deceased Col. [Sergo] Tetradze has filed an application demanding a revision of the case of his death in prison," Teia Tsulukiani told reporters.

Tetradze's wife claimed that her husband had died of torture in jail and that Akhalaia had been one of the alleged torturers.

"We are in no hurry to start these criminal proceedings because we need incontrovertible evidence," Tsulukiani said.
