YEREVAN. Nov 8 (Interfax) - Air Armenia, a transport plane of which landed in Turkey's Erzurum on Thursday, has denied claims that the stopover was allegedly demanded by Turkish authorities.
"The plane carrying humanitarian cargo to Syria landed in Erzurum under an earlier agreement," an airline representative told Interfax.
He said the stopover of the plane flying from Yerevan to Damascus in Turkey and the cargo examination were a part of the flight plan.
The NTV Turkish channel said earlier that Turkish authorities had ordered the Armenian plane en route to Syria to land and started to examine the cargo.
