MOSCOW. Nov 29 (Interfax) - The Syrian opposition expects Moscow and Washington to agree upon a new conference on Syria in continuation of the Geneva conference held June.
"Russia and the United States should agree upon Geneva-2. We support the Geneva accords," Haytham Manaa, a coordinator of the Syrian opposition's National Coordinating Committee abroad, said on Thursday ahead of talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
He said it was too early to speak about possible negotiations between the opposition and the Syrian government.
"Our position is very weak now, particularly after the Doha conference. When not a day passes without someone declaring himself to be the sole representative of the Syrian opposition, this is wrong," the coordinator said.
At the same time, he opposes dictatorship in Syria.
"We support dialogue in order to achieve a new stage of political development. Dictatorship is a thing of the past," he said.
