Syrian opposition's refusal to talk with govt leads to deadlock - Lavrov

MOSCOW. Dec 29 (Interfax) - The National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces' refusal to enter a dialogue with the Syrian government leads to a deadlock, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

"We are sure that this is a deadlock position, which will continue to degrade. The external opposition, including that represented by the National Coalition, will be unable to influence the development of the armed hostilities inside Syria," Lavrov said at a press conference following negotiations with UN/Arab League Envoy to Syria Lakhdar Brahimi in Moscow on Saturday.
