2nd unit of Rostov NPP reconnected to electric power grid

MOSCOW. Jan 21 (Interfax) - The second unit of the Rostov nuclear power plant was reconnected to the electric power grid on January 19. The unit was disconnected by the generator protection system on January 18, says a report of the plant's public information center.

The first and second units of the Rostov NPP are operating normally.

The Rostov NPP is located on the shore of the Tsimlyankoye Dam Lake, 13.5 kilometers away from Volgodonsk. The first unit was put into service in 2001. The second unit was launched in December 2009; the power startup took place in March 2010. The third and fourth units are under construction. The commissioning time is 2014 and 2017 respectively.
