Russia may have new meetings with Syrian opposition figures - diplomat

MOSCOW. Jan 22 (Interfax) - Russian officials may have more meetings with Syrian opposition figures in the near future, including with those with whom they have not met before, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said.

"Surely, we expect representatives of various groups in Moscow in principle, and they have a kind of open invitation from us," Bogdanov said in reply to a question from Interfax.

"There are a lot of opposition leaders in Paris and in Istanbul, and a number of them are present in other cities, like Geneva. So we do not rule out that we may have contacts even with some new opposition groups, with whom we have not yet conversed," he said.
