MOSCOW. Jan 24 (Interfax) - The military aircraft that dangerously approached a Russian passenger Boeing in the Afghan airspace recently most probably belonged to the NATO airbase, a high-ranking Moscow source told Interfax.
"The fighter that approached the Russian Boeing had colors similar with the one of NATO base aircraft. It had right warning lights intended to prevent a collision," the source said.
In his words, the NATO airbase command took note of the incident report.
"The NATO base reported that they had taken note of the information and would bear it in mind for preventing similar incidents in the future," the source said.
He added that the NATO airbase was mostly staffed with U.S. Air Force pilots.
