MOSCOW. Jan 25 (Interfax) - A fire erupted in a high-rise building under construction in the Moscow City area on Monday, an eyewitness has told Interfax.
The fire was caused by a fan heater, the Mosgosstroinadzor press service told Interfax.
"A fan heater set canvas cloth ablaze on the 23rd floor when work was being done on the floor," the press service reported.
The canvas cloth was used for creating a thermal contour, a source of Interfax said.
The fire affected a total of seventy square meters and has now been contained, the source said.
Alexander Gavrilov, first deputy head of the Emergency Situations Ministry's Department for Moscow for state firefighting service, earlier said the fire in the Moscow City tower was caused by thermal insulation catching fire.
The fire was extinguished at 12:38 p.m. There is currently no information on casualties," the source of Interfax said.
