MOSCOW. Jan 31 (Interfax) - The possibility of restoring Georgia's membership in the CIS is not on the agenda of contacts between Moscow and Tbilisi, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said.
"I would like to confirm that the topic of Georgia's return to the CIS is not present on the agenda of our contacts with Tbilisi," he said at a press briefing in Moscow on Thursday.
Remarks made by the director of the Russian Foreign Ministry's 1st CIS Department on this issue "were misunderstood and misinterpreted by journalists," Lukashevich said.
