KOROLYOV. Feb 1 (Interfax-AVN) - RKK Energiya has completed its work on the appearance of the prospective manned supply spacecraft, but there is currently no rocket for this project, Vitaly Lopota, president and general constructor of the rocket and space corporation Energiya, said after the meeting of RKK Energiya's technological council.
"The main technical decisions on the spacecraft have already been made, but no decisions have been made on some parts of the project because there are no rocket characteristics and the rocket carrier itself," Lopota said.
Some decisions cannot be made yet because the rocket for the new manned system has not been determined yet, he said. He recalled that the rocket has been named Amur and is expected to be created suing the technical solutions used in the rocket carrier Angara.
"It's not enough for us," he said.
Lopota recalled that RKK Energiya has done "marvelous work" in the development of the Energiya rocket.
